Silicon Valley Economic Activity and outlook

This chart is taken from the Special Analysis 2009 published by jointly by Joint Venture Silicon Valley and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, subtitled:
"How is Silicon Valley’s Industry Mix Changing andWhat does this mean for Economic Opportunity in the Region?
Economic Restructuring and Workforce Transitions"

Here is a quote outlining the existing Green Product and Service employment picture

"Developers of green (or clean) technologies and providers of related products and services are present and growing across these areas of economic activity. Because of their wide distribution across industries, estimating green business and
employment counts require a different approach. According to current estimates, the region’s green economy accounts for almost 700 businesses and over 10,000 jobs. "

It is my belief that significant funds from the Obama Stimulus package and future initiatives will find their way to Silicon Valley and will create jobs and opportunities for innovation in the Green component of our local and global economy.
