In a conversationn yesterday with Rich Green, he mentioned the dream of striving for BHAG - (big hairy audacious goals). ManyOne is an example of the passion and persistence of small group of visionaries who exemplify the struggle that sometimes comes with seeking BHAG.
The ManyOne community portal site is worth visiting to see their great visuals and learn a bit about how far they have come in 6 years - While google prospered, Manyone soldiered on with a very different, "save the planet" business model. Having served as an advisor to ManyOne for several years, and being originally very excited about sharing his dream, I am amazed at the passionate persistence of Joe Firmage, the founder, and the fact that he is still striving for his BHAG against enormous odds.
There is a object lesson for dreamers with BHAG in the ManyOne Story. Perhaps I can related it to you some day.
